With the first vinyl ep release in the fall of 1997, and through 95 and 96, the lab had begun to define his sound, fusing elements of funky breaks and electro and calling it Funk Lab. With influences coming from an effort as a DJ within the breaks community, he had been immersed within the sound that he had come to love. With a diverse back catalog ranging from straight Florida style funky breaks to the darker, moodier electro, the Funk Lab has engaged a variety of listeners from the US and abroad.

Velocity featuring Sean Tyas |
 |
Friday Dec. 7th Afterlife presents:
Velocity
Featuring:
Sean Tyas

In 2007, the name Sean Tyas is a buzz word in trance circles. And with good reason too. He's one of the most talked about DJ / producers of the moment, not just from trance fans on message boards and budding DJs in record stores, but also in the highest echelons of the trance elite, with Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Sander van Doorn and Above & Beyond all giving his productions massive playlist support.
A New York native now residing in Switzerland, Sean Tyas' production skills bring to the dancefloor a mix of melodic harmony and driving groove that have captured the imagination of the trance community.
2006 was a whirlwind year for Sean Tyas. In the space of a few months he was signed up by the Discover label, an imprint widely recognised as having its finger firmly on the pulse of all things good in cutting edge trance, he won the much hyped Spinnin' Records remix competition for his rework of Sander van Doorn 'Punk'd', and his first solo release for Discover titled 'Lift' was one of the trance anthems of 2006, awarded Single Of The Week on Armin van Buuren's A State Of Trance.
Needless to say that demand for Sean Tyas DJ sets has soared on the back of his production success, with European dates taking him to Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Turkey, Poland and Switzerland, with recent festival highlight at the prestigious Dance Valley event in Holland, plus major UK events Gatecrasher, The Gallery at Turnmills, Ministry of Sound, Goodgreef, Passion and Inside Out, plus tours to Indonesia, South America, Australia, South Africa and Japan and regular dates in the USA and Canada including super-clubs like Spundae, 1015. As the big tunes roll out, the big shows roll in… with Sean Tyas delivering the goods each and every time.
And speaking of big tunes, Sean Tyas continues to drop massive bombs on the trance scene from every direction. There's the original productions on Discover like 'Lift' and 'Drop', with Armada snapping up 'One More Night Out'. As a remixer, Sean Tyas is a name in huge demand, with forthcoming releases on leading labels Vandit, Anjunabeats, Discover and Armada, including remixes of Above & Beyond present Tranquility Base ‘Oceanic’ and Vincent De Moor ‘Fly Away’. Add to that the exclusive Sean Tyas reworks and bootlegs that he uses in his sets such as 'The Diary Of Jane' and it's clear that this is a producer on fire and a DJ equipped with enough trance weapons to devastate any dancefloor.
After a prolific year Sean Tyas is already knocking on the door of the A list trance elite, having been voted the Highest Climber in the TranceAddict poll at #11 and a High Climber to #105 in the prestigious DJ Magazine poll, with both Mixmag and DJ Magazine featuring Sean Tyas as 'One To Watch'. All we can say is "Watch This Space - there's plenty more to come!"

Nocturnal Indulgence VII 11.24.07 w/ emilyPLAY Live (Miami, FL.) @ AFTERLIFE
AfterLife Presents
Nocturnal Indulgence VII
Lingerie Party
Featuring:
Devine & emilyPLAY Live
www.emilyplay.com, MIAMI BEACH, Florida

Emily has always been known to make big moves, cause a commotion and make people look twice. She has been singing and writing her own music ever since she was a child. Fortunately, everyone in her family has always taken her passion for music just as serious as she has. She relocated to Miami from her home in Maine when she was excepted to University of Miami's School of Music Engineering & Vocal Performance. Since she spent most of her life exposed to formal classical music, Emily decided to complete her audio engineering education at the prestigious and more advanced, Full Sail School of Audio Engineering in Orlando. Since electronic music was what she set out to create, she found she had made a wise choice in moving to Orlando. Orlando happened to be the home of many prominent dance music producers and globally known dj's. During her time there she ended up recording and releasing her first vinyl album and full length CD in collaboration with P-Bone (Perry Domingo) and Devine (Humphrey Gomez) on Breaks Collective Records. In late 2004, Emily encouraged Devine to relocate back to Miami with her in search of more opportunities for performing live. Not surprisingly, within a short year after relocating, the duo quickly rose to headliner status becoming the most sought after live PA in the region. They have been consistently booked at every major electronic music event such as Ultra Music Festival, Global Gathering USA, Magical Maydaze and Winter Music Conference. Their live PA is mixture of breakbeat, Miami-styled electro bass and progressive breaks, but Emily's other productions, vocal work and collaborations run the gamut of house, electro-clash, drum & bass and even down-tempo electronica. Even though she has no allegiance to a particular genre of electronic music, there is always one common element amongst all of her creations and that's the unmistakable passion in her voice. If this is the first you've heard of emilyPLAY>, do not be mistaken...you will be hearing about her again very soon because she is definitely making big moves and she's definitely causing a commotion.

AfterLife Presents
Nocturnal Indulgence VI
Lingerie Party
Featuring
KELLY TRANCE
www.kellytrance.com

Kelly Trance has been an avid music lover her entire life. As a teenager she started attending raves and exploring the world of dance music. It was then she realized her passion for djing. While living in Colorado she attended several massive parties with some of the world’s biggest headliners while also saving every penny to buy equipment. Not knowing any djs, she would stand by the booth and watch them play so that she could teach herself. She was finally able to buy her own decks and went straight to work. Kelly bought records ranging from Trance, House and DnB until she finally discovered her own sound. Over the next several years, Kelly worked non-stop to refine her skills. She also spent a lot time promoting and organizing events which allowed Kelly to maintain her humble and hardworking attitude. While working to become a great dj, she also earned her degree in Psychology. She’s headlined shows across the Midwest and dj’ed all over the U.S. Kelly has also toured internationally. She’s played countless shows for MAC makeup, led dj classes for Ladyfest and earned a runner up spot in the BPM Magazine and Rockstar Energy Drink’s “Beauty and the Beats” dj contest judged by Reid Speed, Collete and DJ Rap. She’s recently done some events for Scion and her mixes can be found on countless radio stations across the world. Kelly has worked alongside names such as Above & Beyond, Starkillers, Hybrid, Quivver, Frankie Bones, Hipp-E, DJ Rap, Tommie Sunshine, Nigel Richards, Dara, 4 strings, Colleen Shannon, Phantom 45, Atomic Babies and Ariel Cybana. Kelly has also started producing tracks with partner Johnny Flux. Her first track “Killin’ It” is already a success being put on a compilation album with several other of the worlds biggest women producers including EDM heavyweights Mistress Barbara and Lisa PinUp. Kelly has also been selected to represent Swiss jewelry designer "Your Mood" and has her own custom "Kelly Trance" ring exclusively on their site. You can also catch her in the July 2007 issue of FHM Magazine (Portugal) as one of the "World's Sexiest DJs" and as a Brian X "Diva of the Month". When Kelly is not travelling you can catch her in her home town djing at her residencey "Posh". Be on the look out for more of Kelly’s original work throughout 2007.
