was a home run for me. Both David and Charlie played the best sets I have heard from them in a few months. Especially them playing back to back outside was a real treat. Ringel got everyone outside really grooving, and then Charlie comes on with hard trance, metalcore, and some psy mixed in and got everyone outside, myself included, stomping like the old days :).

I was there as well.... I only caught the last little bit of Charlie's set.

I only showed up really to hear DJ Sye's set, which was good as well.

like it used to be with DJ Venom!!! For you new guys let me tell you a story About DJ Venom. He has played Afterlife now 5 times if memory serves correctly. When he was really popular with the club, there were two events in a row for him (in reality they were 4 months apart) in which he was booked, and got on a plane and both times there was such fucked up weather in Dallas, that the flight was delayed. He missed two parties, but when he finally did get out for a party at life it was EPIC!!

yep Suga Daddy booked him at the Lounge, and it almost made me cry. Venom thought he was playing at Afterlife but did not realize until almost the last minute that he was playing the Lounge. At the time Suga Daddy had done parties at Life, so it was easy to see where there could have been confusion on Venom's part. The Loser Lounge can choke on its own aids infested cock for telling Venom what tracks he could not play. It was the worst Venom show I have ever seen, and it was all the Loser Lounge's fault.

Why does lounge tell people what they can't play?... I don't get it....

They tell dj's what they can and can not play, bc they have mainstream image that they are trying to keep in tact. Yes I know that sounds utterly absurd coming from a club that used to be a strip club and has goth/industrial nights 2 days out of the week, but that is the case. So for example tracks that have any kind of over drug references or language are on the banned list.

But thats why you have after life an alternative to the other... and with that the economy balances.

exactly!! And so the LL will continue to get the same kind of people that are only going out to get drunk or laid, or to pick a fight, or get messed up anyway possible. These people do not mind paying the extra bucks and do not mind listening to the sanitized crap music bc they either do not know any better or do not care.

For those of us that still want to experience new beautiful mixes and dj's that are free to play what they want, will continue to go to Afterlife, The Whisky Bar, etc.

every time i've played at the lounge they never told me what to play...

they do have one of the best house DJs in Dallas as a resident there, but they make him play what they want.
