New to the scene, deciding on going :O

Sup; new to basically everything, except for techno, which I've been a fan of since I was like 5. Yeah, I was a cool kid.

Anyways, the main thing discouraging me right now is not having a wingman for saturday night, as I'm the kind of guy that can easily get lost in all of this and end up leaning against the wall and bumming out. But my friends that are telling me to go (who constantly reinforce that After Life is indeed amazing) could go with me... it's just I don't know if I'd call them my "wingman" or my partner in crime for that night.

Also, I'm bound to make a complete fool of myself if I try to participate in anything.

One more note: I fucking love jungle DNB. Just how much DnB can I expect sat. night? Razz

in the main building later on in the night Phooka will be playing an old school jungle set.

this party is about getting back to the roots of dance music. everyone is playing olod-school sets. I don't think i'll be playing a track produced after 1996.

Gah, my bad, I sounded like a total ignorant fool there :S What I SHOULD have said was just EDM (although to most people I can't say EDM as they wouldn't have a fuck's clue what I'm talking about).
Started on house, found trance, got into DNB (Bassdrive radio = what winamp is on 24/7).

Coast, I think someone mentioned in another thread getting a government ID from the local DMV. My DMV is just barely a bike ride away, and I had a state-issued ID with all my info on it for a little while.

Ponder me this: Can I subtly grooveout without having to really know anyone at AfterLife to have fun? =/

Don't worry about lookin a fool, just don't do anything outright idiotic. Saturday is going to a blast, a full on party. Singing Tesla Coils, A Delorean, and many many great sets of music. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself even if you are not with anybody.

I used to go to clubs all the time by myself. Hell I met half the people I know in Dallas via Afterlife. You should have no problems.

Its all good man, just informing people, anyone new to the scene usually calls it techno.

Of course you can, one of the great things about the crowd that goes to the club is most of the people are friendly. When I first started going in 07 I wanted to go back the next night and none of my friends that took me wanted to so I went by myself the next night and met a lot of new friends.

If you are out tomorrow night for about an hour or more I'll be guarding the DeLorean tymless was talking about making sure no one touches it. Come by and say hey

@coast, I was wondering if most of the club names these days were given to people or if people came up with their own. I guess there is my answer.

Cool, sounds good. I think I'm definitly set on going as I chilled with the people I'm going to meet there ( after seeing I love you man, roflmao that movie was great) and they said they'll make sure I have a good time Smile

I'm not anti-social, but I am pretty shy tbh; that's one of the reasons I want to go to AL is to break out of my shell. Just going to places like AL more often once I graduate anyways.

I will TOTALLY see you pirate, because I want to see that DeLorean soooo bad! I fucking love B2TF. I'll be wearing Jinx's black pacman t-shirt and jeans, I'm hoping w/e lights will work well with it :3

I'll keep an eye out but no promises. I'm not good at meeting people from the forums. Well picking them out of a crowd at least, I have to see you in person first. I usually wear a bright purple hoodie and some extremely colorful shirt with lots of kandi(colored beads).

Tomorrow night I'm not sure what I'm gonna wear, I think to look the part of guarding the DeLorean I'm gonna bring a black hoodie, gotta talk to Spunky about it tomorrow though
