Whats up everybody. My 17th Birthday is today!!! And i wanna be hitting up the foam party this weekend. A bunch of my best friends have been hitting up afterlife every weekend for like 5 monthes and its finally my turn. Im stoked. But there is a problem. I never got around to getting my ID. Would anybody let me in with my birthcertificate and my school ID maybe? If not can somebody tell me what else I could use because Im not about to miss this foam on friday!!!! Smile

Valid and State Issued ID are pretty self explanatory
Any Valid ID (which means one that has not expired) that was issued by a State of the United States of America

these are simple words found in the dictionary, go look them up if you have to but I only know of 2 forms of ID issued by any state, there is the Identification Card as well as the Tecas Driver License
so thats about it
I dont know of any other ID issued by the state...

thought a birth certificate was considered a form of state id also?

its not a form of ID really, there is no picture on it
social security card is not a valid ID either, both of those have to be corroborated with a picture ID in order to prove youre the person on the certificate
you can try and use a school ID and birth certificate but youre going to have to really hope that the door guy is feeling nice that night
youre supposed to provide a state issued ID
this includes Drivers License, ID card, or a federal Passport
and ID card will have your picture on it...

it really isnt that hard to get a id card or expensive anyways. i dont know why this is always a probablem -.-

yup, and in fact you get a temp ID with a freakin picture now when you go get your ID

You are required to have a state or federal ID on you at all times when out in public. If you do not have one, the police can detain you until they can identify you.

Especially if you are a minor and out from 10 pm - 4 am.

I actually don't need an ID... I memorized my driver license number...

You're missing the point..... it is against the law for you to be without an ID on you at all times.

No I'm not missing the point....

What the United States Supreme Court held in Hiibel v. Sixth Judicial Dist. Court (2004) 542 U.S. 177, was that a state could make it a crime for a person to refuse to identify himself (i.e., tell the officer his name and address) when lawfully detained for criminal activity. Note that the Supreme Court did NOT say that any kind of identification papers could be required.

I think knowing my driver license number has me covered...
