Just a suggestion but it would be nice if there was a page that had a brief bio of the dj's that are residents at After Life.
This page should display the type of music that will be played and when...
I'm into hard trance, hard dance, techno, psy trance and would like to know when it will be played if at all..
I like music that is fast and good for dancing none of that lounge stuff.. The way I see it is I go to dance not to sit around, not sure if others feel the same way..
Music should be full of energy to make your body move 140-150bpm..
But if some one could let me know what the expect i would love to know so i can hang out with all of you.. this friday..

That, or look at the bottom of the page.
A bio for Mr. David Ringel? He's a sarcastic jerk. That's all you need to know.

I'm serious guys I love to dance and when someone plays crap that's either to slow or to fast it makes people just sit down..
I'm not saying i don't like other music i do like all kinds of well made electronic music but why go to a party if your not gonna shake your money makers

i am serious too... you think a 10 bpm window is the only stuff you like?
i can play music full of energy below 130bpm... anything above 140 that isn't hard-tech or dnb is for the most part crap in my opinion.

It disappoints me greatly when people use something as variable as BPM as the sole dictation of what they like in music........

Hey well everyone has there opinions you know... I just want to know when something i like is gonna be played so i can come and enjoy my self. So far no one has posted a response to this topic "what music is being played at afterlife"
All I've herd and which is disappointing is people attacking my opinion, I hope that's not the after life vibe...
I wish i live in UK or Germany where there is more variety in places to go get my dance on... but since there are so little places to go a friend of mine told me i should check out after life cant wait to give it a try...
Good music comes in different speeds but I like fast paced music to dance too and that's what I'm searching for...

You can never tell what is going to play when, and at what speed, no matter the club you are looking at.
DJ's are scheduled week by week, with a very wide range of styles. Learn the regulars by listening to them and what styles they play, learn the music.
And open your mind to new stuff.
I have had a TON of people who listen to Hardstyle and Hardcore ask me how many bpm's I am playing because they liked my set. And Most of them are very surprised when I tell them 126....
And I lived in Germany for 2 years, most of the clubs there play stuff from 123-140. Minimal and Tech House rule there right now. Techno following as the main type of popular music, and it plays from a range of 130-140 AT THE MOST.
Even in Germany, no-where will it tell you what BPM is going to happen at what time.

Dominator, I answered your question with my first post, but if you must know, ask someone via PM here, or IM on facebook, although you really should just go and see for yourself.

hi and welcome to the forum
expand and broaden your taste in music
and look at the bottom of the page
here, just so you can be lazy I will copy and paste directly from the bottom of EVERY PAGE on the website...

| Dallas Nightclub Afterlife is bringing you the best in Dance Music, nightlife, and underground music offered in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Dallas Night Club Afterlife provides a place for everyone to gather and enjoy the best in electronic dance music including: house music, electro house, psytrance, goa, hard house, trance, breaks, drum and bass or DnB, progressive house and trance, and many many more styles. Afterlife Dallas is open Friday and Saturday nights as well as other events for special occasions. Hope to see you in the Afterlife! |
to know whats being played at afterlife i would suggest The Lineup section here on the forum...
here, just cause i can tell youre going to have trouble with that as well i will give you a link:
The Lineup Section of Afterlifedallas.com
Afterlife has a pretty diverse selection of music to listen to
and if you think that anything under 140 BPM is going to be too slow and boring then you are sadly mistaken
ive heard sets played at 10 to 15 BPM lower than that have more energy than a hardstyle set full of bad mixes and poor track selection being played at 150+ BPM
dont make assumptions based on BPM and dont come to afterlife with a closed mind on what you want to listen to
our nights tend to progress in music style and intensity from hour to hour
every weekend we consistently have DJs playing with a varied style of music
in any given weekend there could be anywhere from 4 to 10 or more genres of music being played
if anything afterlife will teach you to enjoy music of many different styles and bpm
alot if music with a tempo of 140 to 150 bpm is poorly produced and lacking bass, even my beloved genre of psytrance is no exception
youve come at us with the wrong attitude already, keep it up and youre going to need a flame retardant suit...

Thx bro like i said i cant wait to see how things go down. But i can care less about the bpm not sure why i was attacked for, when i was just describing what i like...
But o well i guess ill just avoid using forms since people are discouraging on here.
And like i said already a few times ago i listen to different types of music but i like dancy music not just some mellow mix.. I love when a set is full of energy..

Mack has done your work for you. I can tell you this much, as well: You will not find a more diverse and unique blending of genres and styles than you will find at Afterlife. It's why Afterlife is the best EDM club in the DFW area. All of the DJs bring it in their own unique ways. You will find something you like. I guarantee it.

LOL @ discouraging
if anything we are encouraging you to open your mind, to expand and broaden your taste in music
at no point did i discourage you from anything, except maybe discouraging you from keeping your current preconceived notions of what good music is and to listen to a broader range of music
and mellow energy is still a form of energy
lots of people out there like mellow music
but i guarantee no one style of music will be played all night long
if you dont like the music then move to another stage or wait for the next DJ
