Hey guys, im new to the whole AL scene in general. Ive basically spent all day snooping around on the website finding out all i can about this place and i must say, you guys are pretty tight. you all look like a fun loving group of people. and im mega excited to join the fun.

I intened on going to AL in the near future with a few of my friends, who have also never been to any raves. Bassicaly i wanna know all i can. From what i can see, it looks like Friday night is when all the local DJs spin and on saturday is an actual event? Im mostly into Hardstlye, DnB, and Gabber, so how can i find out whos playing when and what are they playing?

Also, just general info, what to wear, what to expect. what do i do to avoid pissing people off. all that jazz.

I think you guys can help and I would love to just chat with some other people about the rave scene!

first off your not going to a rave, you are going to a nightclub. The club is open every Friday and Saturday night, and occasionally big events are held on Saturday nights. There is a topic thread for the lineup which will be posted for every Friday and Saturday so you know who is playing. If you have a question about which kind of music the dj's play just post about on here, or check out their myspace pages. You can wear pretty much whatever you feel comfortable in. Generally most people are pretty easy going at the club. Just don't act like an asshole, and you won't have to worry about pissing people off.

There are a certain few who are assholes and since I am not there anymore, I am not one of them. I know people are meaner than me, but I usually wasn't too nice to n00bs.

Anywhoo, if you do give light shows, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT shine your lights in random people's faces. I have had this done to me SEVERAL times. And it really chaps my butt. IF people want a light show and they see you messing with lights, they will ask you for one. Likewise, if you would like a light show, just ask for one.

Dancing is permitted. We encourage you to dance your little heart out and cuddle in sweaty little puddles. Especially in the blacklight room. Bring highlighters and draw on each other. You can discover your hidden art talent!

There was a phase about a year ago, I don't know if its passed or not, but people were drawing on eachother's faces with highlighters.

We ask that you do not do anything that you could not explain to your parents. Parents seem to go overboard and exaggerate and bring the much un-needed negative publicity.

Drink plenty of water. Keep yourself hydrated so we won't have to scrape your body off the floor.

And, have fun!

Other than that, I can't think of anything to tell you.

No sex in the bathrooms, or anywhere for that fact. Bring your ID you WILL NOT get in without it. And, wear clothes, please. And keep your private areas covered. We all have our own private areas if we want to see one.
