no reason to be sorry... i think they are wonderful people.
i just no longer have any viable reason to think that a god-like being exists.

I studied Buddhism for awhile. It is what brought me back around to accepting some form of religion.

really?
i find it hard to become apart of any type of religion, i can appreciate them now more than i could when i was first released from the bonds of JW-ism (lol) but i still feel that the ultimate sense of god rests w/n.
but sometimes i question that, and wonder if that's just my ego..ukno, like me wanting to be my own god so then i can do anything i want w/o feeelings of guilt.
but idk cuz i still feel guilty about going against that inner voice at times.
but then i question the feeling of guilt (and all others for that matter) as well.
but i dont feel as confused as that ^ reads. i feel at peace, it's just hard to mentally define why that peace is there and where it comes from

do you think that there is some sort of devine being (whether it be w/n, apart of, or outside of us)?
or that there is really no need for the whole idea of "God" and we ought just live?
or something else?
i am really very interested in your beliefs

It just took time for me to step back and just let all of the bs ride for awhile. After I did that I started studying and doing things on my own terms to find out where I fit and I have found a good place for me.
I think a partial reason many people fall out of any sort of religion is the pressure that comes with it. From peers, from family, from the pastor or whatever, even the government. All saying you must follow a religion and identify yourself and be in civil war with non believers of what you believe. Most religion starts out with good nature, it is man that turns it into a disaster.

i think deep down every person knows if an action is right or wrong & no person should need something telling them what they should avoid, do, and not do. if you are a strong-willed intelligent person you know what you should do. i have nothing that has ever led me to believe that there is any sort of devine being.

i think that is the most self-honoring way to go about it.
occationally tho, i still struggle w/ wondering if the way im living is "right" or not, but i think im just learning to let go of my judements and accept myself regardless of how i choose to live.
im glad you found a good place for yourself =D
and i absolutly agree with your last sentence.
it rang so true i felt like crying, just to release the anger at how ideas that were at one point beautiful are now so...like, sufficating to the participant
