The thing with nicknames is if you make a good enough first impression on your own, then you won't need a nick name. The exception to that rule is when there are scores and scores of people with the same first name. Take for example Chris. There more Chris' then I care to remember that I have met over the years in the scene from the Bronco Bowl, to the Lizard Lounge, and then to Afterlife. Just about every Chris I know has a nick name, case in point Bumblebee.
