For those who haven't seen or heard of us yet, Team Rocket is a relatively new lightshow crew based in the Dallas area. Our favorite clubs are Afterlife and Insomnia @ the Clubhouse. Right now we are composed of 3 members: N!nj@, ShowStopper, and Preacher Boy. Quick bio on us:

N!nj@: aka Alex. Regular Afterlife goer since last summer of '09 and the most experienced performer of the group. Trademarks include his white DC hat, black sweats and polo shirt. Age 19.

ShowStopper: aka Lewis. N!nj@'s most common tag-team partner (when he's actually around Rolling Eyes

) and co-founder of the group. Only guy we know of who walks around yelling "who wants a lightshow?" all night. Age 20.

Preacher Boy: aka Tyler. Newest member of Team Rocket introduced by ShowStopper. Just got into doing lightshows last week at EDC and tonight will be his first time at Afterlife Twisted Evil

. His dad is a preacher. Age 18.

Light shows are only good when they're coming from people that know what they're doing, otherwise, it's quite silly, and really stupid looking.

We aren't a tough crowd, but we're quick to recognize that which is unnecessary and dumb.

it depends how good your group IMO. alot of times i get a shitty light show. and i dont like it when you shine LED's directly in my eyes.

I distinctly remember when I realized that the whole binky thing was beyond re-stupid. I walked into the club, saw about 6 guys of varying ages with them, gnashing at them like they were the fucking plague. I facepalm'd heavily, and went about my business. There are several things that I would like to see disappear from the scene, really, but yeah, I don't want to rant in a "new people" thread.

I don't like the fact that most ladies feel like they have to wear 'rave' attire.
ex: tutus, neon, pacifiers, etc. Everyone looks like they stepped out of HotTopic or Spencers. It's horrid. Same goes for men to I guess.
I don't see why you can't dress classy everywhere you go.

many people dress up for many reasons. the people that dress different in the club is that there bored in wearing the same clothes.
whats wrong with having a little bit of pizazz? its like moving decorations in the club

Anissia, the ones that dress like they just stepped out of Hot Topic or Spencers never last beyond 3 or 4 months. Their kind come and go with the changing of the seasons.

If most everyone that matters is irritated with the way people are dressing and acting at the club, then it is our responsibility as the seasoned patrons of Afterlife to set the right example. That does not mean just sticking with our own social group of friends! That means becoming the change that we want. Dress to please yourself and no one else, but then make an effort to get out and meet the new people coming into the club every time you go to the club. Understand that most of the club's attendance is made up of fairly new faces without a lot of experience in club culture. Be patient with them as you explain your wisdom and experience.

I'm slow to anger but quick to irritation and, quite frankly, some of them irritate me when they try and converse. I generally always stay polite though. I'll take some of your advice.

Sigh........ no physical threats on the website, right? It's not really worth it anyway, David.

I occasionally dress up (if you can call it that) for Afterlife because I like the way a solid color outfit looks on me. At any rate, I usually have a filter up that reduces 80-90% of the club goers to virtually ambient noise. I like it that way. XD
