Yeah, I told him to go get his ID back, as there are no permissible grounds (as far as I know) that allow an establishment to confiscate a legitimate, state-issued ID. He was too angry to do that, tho ...

Hmmmm. I had a friend at Insomnia who not only was denied entry, but had that same paper ID confiscated from him on the spot. Different rules for different establishments, I guess?
